Going snatch hunting and other stories….

My summer, so far, in soundbites.

In the home…

“Mummy, why does the bin always make that clinking noise more in the summer?”. Molly aged 8, by the bin.

“You are stopping for wine again?” Owen, in the car – outside the wine shop.

“She needs it, it is medicine to make the holidays better.” Libby-Sue aged 4 – outside the wine shop.

“And she’s had a rough week, it’s not easy being a stay at home mum in summer.” Molly, possibly paraphrasing, outside the wine shop.

“I wish I was an only child, with sisters.” Molly, whilst sitting on Owen.

Out and about, driving to and fro..

“If you sing that stupid Frozen song again I will die of ear torture.” Molly to me, during a beautiful car sing a long.

On food…

“Mum a brioche is not breakfast, other kids have nutritional stuff to eat for breakfast”. Owen, in the kitchen, eating brioche

“Likewise, can we not have beans on toast for tea, do you still buy carrots?”. Molly, in the kitchen, eating brioche.

“Let’s go to the pub Mum for tea, you love pubs, let’s take Emma, she loves them too…” Libby-Sue, hopeful.

Days out and blogging

“Another theme park? Really? Can’t you blog about books for a bit, I need to finish mine.” Owen, outside Legoland.

“We have to work so hard being a bloggers kids, reviewing this, reviewing that, its exhausting.” Molly, reviewing a new toy.

“C’mon Mummy, let’s go snatch hunting.”  Owen at Harry Potters Studio.

“Look mum, loads of snatches.” Libby-Sue, riding a broomstick.

On CrossFit

“Your grunts sound like a bear giving birth.” Owen, at CrossFit

“Mummy, did you fart as you squatted?” Molly, at CrossFit

So how is your summer going?

  1. Hahahaha bless them and brioche is what classes as proper posh breakfast here, sometimes it is biscuits…..(I am so not a morning person- they have to get their nutrients later in the day!)

  2. Oh that is hilarious. Mine have had too many days out and carrots and are awaiting normality…..oh or is that on the days when they are not protesting about how they don’t want to go to McDonalds again. You have reminded me that it’s been ages since I had a drink though!
