I have a problem.
My delightful beautiful 13 month old daughter seems to be rather resistant to move.
Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoy the fact that she is content to sit and watch the world move by, and I love that she prefers to cuddle rather than toddle as I have plenty of time in years to come to watch her run away from me.
My disgruntlement stems from her inability to roll 360 degrees. She has mastered the art of rolling from back to front however this is something she only likes to do at 4am. And at 4am she also gets pretty vocal about the fact that she is on her front; and she seems to dislike being on her front.
The 4am wake up calls are ruining my basic need for 8 hours sleep, especially since BB isn’t always fond of going straight back to sleep.
On a positive note on Saturday I am sleeping at a hotel, if I see the little hands pointing at a four and the big hand pointing at a twelve that night then it means I have been dancing and then I can almost cope with the sleep deprivation that will follow.
I am off to a blogging conference for parent bloggers where I am hoping to learn some new skills and meet some new friends. I am attending the event as a sponsored blogger and I am rather chuffed that Tesco Clothing have been generous enough to sponsor me. My kids are frequently seen in some of the fab ranges from Tesco’s and it seems only moments ago that I was in there kitting out Twin Girl and Twin Boy with their first school uniform.
For anyone who is looking currently to snap up a bit of a bargain Tesco’s are offering 20% off and free delivery on all clothing orders over £15 at the moment.
Plus when you are looking to invest in next years school uniforms Tesco’s are offering you a chance to do some good for the world as well, for every skirt, trouser or two pack of Fairtrade cotton polos, Tesco will donate a complete school uniform to a child in Kenya, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. These are countries where school uniforms for British children are manufactured, and children in these countries who are not able to afford a uniform can sometimes miss out on the opportunity of an education.
Tesco’s Clothing donated 24000 pieces of clothing last year, which you can read more about here and here, so I am really pleased to be able to work with them and hopefully spread this message just a little further.
So please pop along and have a look at my sponsor but also any tips on how to deal with a one way rolling baby at 4am would be gratefully received!
I didn’t know Tescos were so charitable. Now I love then even more (I’m one of those saddos that has a track credit card and buys everything there – and I mean everything. Even glasses and foreign currency)
Re the rolling – try gaffs taping her down to prevent her rolling at all…
Hmmmm don’t have any gaffa tape; do have blu tack?
Superglue?…
No tips I’m afraid. I have a roller too but thankfully not at 4am! Going to check out Tesco’s though.
Oh good, I am loving my sponsor
Has BB been talking to F? I’ve been woken at 4am the last 3 nights in a row by F crying because she’s SAT UP in her sleep. Strange child.
Lord its killing me, she flips in her sleep and then wakes up as she inhales the bed sheet. I come in and she grins and then yells when I leave….
At her age she should be able to do a 360!
Daft sausage (her not you)
Hi! Stopping by from MBC. Great blog!
Have a nice day!
Thanks
Staples?
Hmmm, wonder what social services would make of that?
Have you tried the sleep positioner thingies? Never tried them myself so can’t comment how good they are, but theyre supposed to stop rolling. Amazon have them. Or would she still roll in a sleeping bag? Mine couldn’t. Apart from that, I don’t know, sellotape? Super glue?
She is in a sleeping bag…. but will look at sleep thingys – I am trying tape tonight!
Ah, yes, The Baby did this. She never did realise she was capable of rolling onto her back again at night (she did it quite happily all day long) as she quickly moved on to getting onto all fours and then sitting up. This required many visits to tend to a screaming, sitting child, before she realised that actually, once she was sitting, she may as well make the most of it and have a chat with the toys in her cot. And bang on the bars with her dummy. I think she spends a large part of the night doing this instead of sleeping. She somehow has managed to figure out how to lie down again, although I’m not sure how. Frankly I don’t care, I’m no longer having to get up to lie her back down x
Sod it after a week of interupted sleep I am buying superglue at lunchtime…
Listen to a professional it’s duck tape or nothing x
That’s how you got twin boy to sleep….
