Happy Blog Day…

Happy Blogday meIt has been a year today since I started this blog, so I am pretty pleased to have stuck at something for twelve whole months. It has recorded memories of my children, their births, their first day at school, my return from baby blues, my marathon training and completion of the 26 mile beast, our scary discovery of BB’s epilepsy and some of my favourite funny moments with three children aged five and under; not to mention it has documented the day I let my family down.

It has been therapeutic writing a few hundred words three or four times a week. I think at times when tears have tried to drip their way out of my eyes writing life down has stopped them from falling.  And it has ensured that this year is one I will never forget when age takes its hold and robs bits of my memories.  Plus most days when readers have commented it has made me know I am not alone in some of the parenting mishaps my children get up to and it has made me laugh.

So today I will be saying Happy Birthday to my blog and eating cake, I simply love cake.

To say thank you to those of you who keep reading my ramblings Tesco’s have also supplied a birthday present to one reader of my blog in the form of five £10 gift vouchers for Tesco Clothing. So £50’s worth of vouchers in total.  This also coincides with the launch of their Autumn/Winter Selection which you can check out now.

So to enter just leave a comment and I hope you will pop back and keep reading in Year 2; it is a lovely feeling being “read.”

Competition ends on September 6th and the winner will be chosen at random.  Entries open to Uk resident only.

Am now eating cake and singing Happy Blog Day to myself – a little worrying…..

  1. Wow one whole year :O lol.. you started this blog on my due date with my boy 🙂 though he doesn’t turn up for 3more days
Congrats.. and Ooo… cake I want some!

  2. Happy blog day! Seems we started blogging at almost the same time (my ‘blogday’ is four days away). Of course you have been rather more consistent than me and didn’t do anything silly like give up for months for silly reasons like the birth mother of your child using your funny anecdotes in court as evidence of your inability to mother. Oh it’s been fun!

I didnt realise hadnt been doing it for years. I simply assumed you had. As I think you know, yours is the only blog I regularly read because it’s the only one I’ve found to be consistently worth reading.

I’ll keep stalking in year two and look forward to reading about more twin mayhem and first steps from BB…

Love from Croydon. I’ll eat cake too. Just for you 🙂 x

      • Yes well I would blog it to death, it would certainly make it all a lot easier to deal with (blogging / laughing at oneself is rather therapeutic, no?) however, stalking from the adore mentioned evil cow (a technical term, permissible in court) somewhat puts me off. It’s also the reason Ellie is generally depicted as a little angel and beacon of normality despite the fact she’s as mad as a box of frogs and twice as naughty…

        • I refuse to believe Ellie is as mad as a box of frogs!!!

If you ever fancy blogging it and post elsewhere feel free to abuse my blog, would love to have you over x x x

  3. Happ blog day! I had no idea we started our blogs so close together (my blog day is tomorrow!). I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog, and I’m looking forward to Year 2 for both of us 🙂

  4. Happy Blog Day to you, Happy Blog Day to you, Happy Blog Daaaaay to yoooooouuu, Happy Blog Day to YOU !!! XXX

You always raise a smile for me, on one occassion a tear and the rest of the time you make me realise that as the my two get older you can at least drink a hot cup of tea 🙂 XXXX

  5. Happy Blog Day – I think I shall eat cake to help you with the celebration too (any excuse to eat cake!).

Your blog has always seemed so well established that I have assumed you had been writing for longer.

I am looking forward to your next year and seeing what happens to you and the children.

    Congratulations! X

  6. Happy blog day to you
    Happy blog day to you
    You look like a monkey
And you smell like one too
I came on here to say Happy Blog day as I haven’t commented anywhere for such a long time and you always leave me lovely comments and then you only go and put a comp on here so it looks like I am commenting to enter the comp. Meh. Please don’t entrer me.
Only 34 days til we can have that long-awaited drink at the Mad Blog Awards. Have you been practicing your face? Oh yeah, you won’t need it!!!!
    Love you
    xxxx

  7. That’s great you have been going for a year – I’ve not even reached my 1 week blog-day yet! I have enjoyed discovering blogs this week, including yours, as well as starting up my own!

  8. Recently discovered your blog via Sarsm, who I found via the Laughing Housewife etc. Loved it so much I simply had to go right back to the start and read it all. Sometimes work (child protection) is a bit slow so I can do these things in work. Anyway some posts made me laugh out loud while I almost wept at others. please don’t stop. I feel that I really know you and your lovely family.

  9. Happy blog day to you and I do hope the cake was delicious. I have loved reading your blogs and often get funny looks from laughing out loud to myself in the office as well as on the train. Bring on the year 2 ! 🙂

  10. Happy blog day to you!!! I started reading when I discovered it one night when I was feeding and it was the Dear Gina one… I wet myself laughing and was hooked ever since! I need to go back to the start and read them all. Is that like cyber stalking? 🙂

  11. Happy blogday!
A year is quite an achievement, must be brilliant to be able to look back now and remember all the little things you might have lost in the jumble of life with little monsters.
Love your blog, I too thought you’d been around much longer! Heres to the next year!
    From a bloggy novice x

  12. Well done on reaching a year! It’s lovely to share in your stories… I have got two girls aged 2 & 4 and you are right it is nice to feel like you are not alone on parenting issues! Following on twitter @CazzaE

  13. I am glad my poop has caused so much delightment to everyone. I will see if I can get away with my ‘accidents’ for another year just to keep mummy in blog material. Oh, and she didn’t share the cake. 33 mins on the naughty step for you, mummy!

  14. Wow, I didn’t realise, happy belated blog day!! I too assumed you’d been around (hang on that sounds wrong), I mean blogging for much longer than a year, you’re clearly just a natural at it. Thank you to twin boy, twin girl & bb for providing the entertainment, and the heart wrenching posts too and thank you to you for sharing them xx

  15. Fab post, have enjoyed reading your blog over the last few weeks since my blogging journey began and look forward to reading lots more …

  16. Its amazing what we go through in only a year. I look back on my blog and think wow I survived all that. May your next year be happy and full of laughter xxx

  17. Happy Belated Blog Day! Time flies doesn’t it…. I’ll be doing more regular blogging myself soon, and dipping into lots of others, so bring it on and thanks!!

  18. Just to say I have been reading your blogs for a few weeks and just as you have found it therapeutic to write over the last year, I have found it therapeutic to read them. Funny and honest and it’s great to know that somebody else has been slapped in the face with a raw wet kipper. And so fortunate that you were saved from the brink of death. So with my glass of wine awaiting (in addition to an Everest of ironing), the kids bickering and the rain pouring, from one northern mum to another…congratulations!

    • Ha/1 thanks,

interestingly enough we have more than being northern in common, I also have everest of ironing awaiting me (but I am ignoring it) and I am pouring a large glass of wine!

      we could be twins!

      Thanks for reading xxx

  19. I have only very recently started reading, but as blogs go, this has to be in the top 5 I have come across (can’t remember where I found this) but having a 4 year old troublesome boy, I was extremely glad to read that I’m not alone in the drama, tantrums and occasional loveliness of children 🙂
Congrats on keeping up for a year 😀
