Did you see it yesterday? That strange glow in the sky, spreading yellow buttery fingers cutting through the soft clouds?
Me too,
It was the hope of spring, the hint of summer, a promise of longer days and drier weekends. It was a sign for my children to start asking when we could re start out door trips, when we can start squealing with pleasure hurtling down rides, when we can feel sand between our toes again…
And for once I had an answer.
March 20th.
March 20th is when our favourite theme park, THORPE PARK, flings open its gates for another season of thrills and screams, March 20th is when we will hit the park for the first of many trips this summer.
This year, the kids are I have been lucky enough to be selected to be THORPE PARK Ambassadors, we have been given Merlin Passes to ensure that every time the fancy takes us, we can jump in the car and be soaring through the sky on Stealth, or dancing in the dark on X within the same hour.
My kids plan on taking their roles as Ambassadors very, very, seriously. I plan on writing several posts about my sheer terror of plummeting from some serious heights, my exhaustion from being the world’s best theme park mother, and my basic enjoyment of watching the kids have a whale of a time. Plus I will also be letting you know the best deals, times to go and any exciting news from the park.
So, lets get started….
Fancy a bit of March Madness?
If you hop onto THORPE PARKS website between now and Wednesday 12th March 2014 you can buy tickets in advance online for just £20. That’s an almost 60% saving on full price tickets – so friends and family if you want to join us for the day let us know!
Even more exciting, once you’ve booked online, you can upgrade your ticket to a THORPE PARK Resort Annual pass on the day of your visit, for just £28. Visit as many times as you like for the whole season.
Thorpe Park has 5 amazing rollercoaster which really hit the button for thrill seekers like us, you need to be 1.4 metres to ride the really big rides, but my eight year old girl is dying to leap onto Nemesis Inferno in a couple of weeks, and it looks like I will be riding alongside her.
My slightly shorter eight year old boy is content to keep riding the rest of the park, but he is ridiculously excited about THORPE PARK’s latest addition – Angry Birds Land. He can’t wait to join the Angry Birds as they hi jack Detantaor and he dreams of what thrills the 4D experience will bring.
Bring on summer!
Hmmm I’ll fight you for that title of coolest theme park mum!
Or shall we just sit in the caf and sip cocktails while they do the thrills?
Nah! I am going on swarm! *keeps title*
Have never been but it looks VERY exciting to me!
That’s a really great ideal actually…. never been, looks very Universal Studios…??
Thorpe is terrific! You sound like you are a veteran… I’m jealous! Good post, though.
Thanks
