Returning to Trevella, time and time again

I wouldn’t describe me as a creature of habit.  I firmly believe that we only have a short time in this life and we should try to see as much of the world as possible. But I have just returned from a holiday at Trevella Park in Crantock, where we have visited for the last three years.

Before I left, I booked again for next year.

We stayed for ten days, 7 in a caravan and the final three in the beautiful Safari Tents. ready-tent-bedrooms We have so much more of Cornwall to explore, and Trevella is the perfect base for us.

It is a quiet resort, with no boisterous kids clubs, perfect for making the most of your own family.  A heated swimming pool sits in the centre of the resort.  Two parks are perfect for kids of both toddling and older ages.  Wayne the ranger is on hand to teach about wildlife in the local area.  The cafe sells decent food and drink and an onsite store houses all the vitals you will need.

You need nothing else for a stay in Trevella and you can watch our adventures here.

The camp and caravan site is coated in beautiful flowers, the lawn immaculate and the pathways clean.  The showers, laundrette and toilets are always in perfect condition and the staff are nothing short of exceptional. Trevella Park The Local Area

Trevella sits in the heart of Cornwall and you have your pick of stunning beaches.  Crantock beach is a stunning shoreline of gorgeous yellow sand and a crashing white surf. Rob’s surf shack is waiting to teach you the skills of how to master the ocean, be it by surfboard, paddle board or kayak.   He is an incredible instructor, outstanding with the kids, and if he can get me standing on a surf board then I am sure he can get anyone up! Crantock Surf school Crantock beach also hosts a bathing area in the estuary,  crabbing opportunities with some monster sized crabs and the all important toilets, and ice cream store!

Inside Crantock itself you will find a small village store, three pubs\restaurants and tea rooms.  All selling decent grub at reasonable prices.  The Bowgie Inn offers decent musical nightlife and firework shows and is great for kids.  The Albion and the … Get full quickly so is worth booking in advance.

Other beaches to ensure you visit are Trevone Bay, Watergate Bay and Fistral for surf watching!

What to do…

Downloading the app for Cornwall is a great start to planning your holiday. The App information ranges from ‘Accommodation’ to ‘Attractions’ and ‘Activities’ and covers everything from adrenalin fun filled days, to National Trust houses and gardens, museums, theme parks and wildlife. Basically, there’s everything you need to plan your holiday or days out.

Our personal recommendations of places we have visited are as follows.

Crealy for a fun filled day of slides, rides and pony rides. Crealy St Ives for a day of boat riding, sand castle building and of course, boutique shopping. St Ives Padstow for fish n’ chips, crabbing by the harbours edge and people watching in the sun.  Plus a cheeky go on the Flowrider at Retallack. Padstow Bodmin jail for spooky going ons and historic truths. The Pheonix at Watergate Bay for the best hot chocolate, followed by a scoop of Cornish ice cream. Pheonix The Eden Project for a day of natural delights and an awesome zip wire, not to mention escaped T-Rex’s.  We had a wonderful day out on our last day here.

Walking in the humid heat of the Rainforest, shrieking when the fantastic T-Rex ran past us on the loose.  And eating the most perfect Jam and Cream scone. Eden Project Flambards for more rides and a real taste of victorian living.  This is a real all weather attraction, where you can zoom through the sky on rides, play mini golf, hide for a while in soft play or learn more about the Blitz in the super museum.

Lappa Valley for a day of fun on the trains and running round parks.

Of course, surfing with Rob on Cranstock beach.

Plus don’t forget to book your sessions with Wayne the Ranger and get in a few rounds of mini-golf at Trevella.

Thanks again to Trevella for housing us in both a caravan and the gorgeous Safari Glamping tent this year.  We had an amazing time, and highly recommend Trevella for a super family break. Trecella

  1. The tents look gorgeous and it sounds so perfect for families. I will definitely take a look – nothing like bunking down together after a day of adventure to make the kids happy.
