I have a bit of a reputation for avoiding blog hops, memes and doing arty things with my kids so prepare yourselves as I am about to attempt to do all three in one blog post.

I have no love for children’s parties, especially ones that I am in charge of. Hence why it was a bit of a result when I realised that by having twins I have cleverly managed to avoid having separate parties for my eldest pair. I am sure the day will come when my girl and boy are no longer satisfied with sharing their birthday fun but for now the fact that I only have to host one party for two children gets me through the birthday blues…
This morning I awoke to feel fear penetrating my heart in two ways. The first way was via an instant memory that today is the day of the Teddies Bear Picnic and the second impact of terror was the uncomfortable silence that was echoing through my normally excessively loud home.
It’s funny how time and experience changes you into someone you never thought you’d be.
If you’d have told me when I started the parenting journey five years ago that one day I publishing a blog entitled “I’ve gone green”, my first response would have been;
Things they don’t tell you at your antenatal class.
1. Midwives are not care bears who will automatically adore you and want to make your labour as pain free as possible. They are underpaid, overworked women who dislike being swore at on a daily basis. Be nice to them and they may get you the good drugs.
2.However though be aware when it comes to drugs, petherdine will make you look like you are on crack.
